1. Future Continuous

I’ll be training until 18:00

Use of the future continuous

Structure: [subject + will be + -ing verb + object]

  1. About actions that will be in progress at a time in the future.
  2. In the future actions which are already planned or are expected to happen in the normal course of things.
  3. Sometimes shall is used instead of will, especially for I and we.

e.g We shall be fighting until the end.

For questions, we change the order of the subject and ‘will’.

Will they be helping us?

Contraction with Future Continuous

In the Future Continuous tense, we insert “not” between will and be for negative sentences, or we contract. 

We will not – we won’t

He will not – he won’t

Examples 

This time tomorrow I will be sitting on the beach in Singapore.

 He‘ll be meeting us next week.

He won’t be reading at the funeral 

Tips: If it helps, try relating this tense to the present continuous. Think: What am I doing now? And then, tomorrow, what will I be doing at the same time?

Right now, I am working.

This time next week, I will be sitting on the beach.
